9mm (No.3) Bore Cartridges

Pattern Tests

Comparative pattern testing for a 9mm shotgun of fixed cylinder choke for which there is very limited availability of ammunition is not a particularly useful exercise. Owners of such guns are more likely not to be able to obtain ammunition at all than to be able to select a particular brand on the basis of performance. We therefore publish this data in a slightly different approach to the data made available for other gauges.

The data in the pages listed below is presented “as is”. We cannot usefully analyze the components of the cartridges, the degrees of choke which suit them best or other things which are relevant over a broad range of cartridges from different manufacturers. Rather, we simply present the pellet counts achieved by firing the particular shells in the SmallBoreShotguns test gun and associated patterns of interest.
